I became a little obsessed with the ParkRoyal Collection Pickering hotel when working for a design agency, researching eco-friendly architecture for their social media channels.
I discovered it on Instagram (that’s pure millennial I know…) and years later remembered it when we decided to explore Singapore for a few days on the way home from New Zealand.
Mr Kiwi had never been, and I really wanted to show him why I loved visiting this tropical island nation so much – I’ve already been to Singapore twice and was eager to explore further.
We checked in after a long flight (10+ hours) super keen to get settled in, and honestly, it was even more beautiful than I’d hoped.
I’ve stayed in two iconic luxury Singaporean hotels before: the Marina Bay Sands and Raffles, but this was something else.
They call Singapore the ‘city in a garden’ and the ParkRoyal Pickering embodies this.
Every space is modern luxury, surrounded with living plants – featuring ‘15,000m squared of lush greenery which constitutes more than twice the total land area that the hotel sits on.’
(S0rry, some of my photos corrupted so I had to extract them from videos for the ‘gram…)
We were greeted with a lovely welcome (and happy anniversary gift) and promptly ordered a feast of room service before collapsing into the gorgeously comfortable super king bed. Our room was generously appointed with every conceivable mod con; all contained within the Japanese style light wood panelling.
Each morning we rolled out of bed, eager to see what their lavish breakfast array had.
They cater for a variety of cuisines, from English/American (including an on-demand pancake machine) with chefs cooking eggs to order, through to Indian curry and Japanese sushi freshly prepared. They had an amazing array of fresh dim sum as well – I also got to try rose apples which were so, so delicious.
The Parkroyal is on a busy road, just a stone’s throw from the Central Business District. It’s also a five-minute walk from the Waterfront at Clarke Quay, and a five-minute taxi ride to popular sights including Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay. Public transport links are super easily accessible, with the Chinatown MRT station just two minutes’ walk down the road.
The comprehensive wellness floor includes a 300-metre walking track that goes around the entire hotel, an infinity pool and hot tub, a gym and a spa offering a range of luxury treatments.
I took full advantage of both the pool, the view and the lushly planted walking track that encircles the entire building.
I’d stay again in a heartbeat; one of the Pan Pacific collection, the luxurious ParkRoyal Collection Pickering was stunning, stylish and the team are so friendly. [To book your own hotel stay, feel free to use my booking.com affiliate link at no extra cost to you.]
