A Unique London Afternoon Tea (almost) Worth Getting Arrested For – The Dixon Hotel, London Bridge

June 22, 2022

Fancy a very unique London afternoon tea (almost) worth getting arrested for? (To be fair, the ladies I was with are the ones who I’d either be in jail beside or calling at 3am to arrange rescue/bail.)

Unique Afternoon Tea The Dixon Hotel London Bridge

The Dixon Hotel is in a Grade II-listed Edwardian building that was formerly a Magistrates’ courthouse and police station, near London Bridge, down Tooley Street, next to Tower Bridge.Read more

My Favourite London Cafes and Hotels to Work From

April 12, 2022

Sometimes I just have to escape my home office – especially when I’ve got a severe case of the procrastinations – taking my laptop to one of my favourite London cafes and hotels to work from.

London Coffee Shops to Work FromI’m not going to reveal every single one of my favourite places – I have working hidey holes all over London and we’d be here all day. But these are my favourites as a self employed freelancer. The newly opened Market Halls & Box Parks would probably make for good working locations as well, but I’ve not tried out their WIFI connections.

The Jones Family Affair | Covent Garden Restaurant Review

March 22, 2022

Love steak? Love London theatre? Need a fun date restaurant that has great cocktails and some intriguing modern art as a talking point? Enter stage left The Jones Family Affair, this Covent Garden restaurant is one not to miss. Disclaimer: we were invited guests but we’ll definitely be back on our own nickel – all thoughts & steak orders are very much my own.

The Best Aussie Cafes in London | Fair Dinkum Flat Whites and Lamingtons

October 20, 2021

Having recently rounded up the best Kiwi cafes in London, I thought it only fair to share the best Aussie cafes in London as well. For trans-Tasman balance you understand, and nothing at all to do with the banana bread research required… no…

Best Aussie Brunches in London

For when you’re desperate for brunch & all the Kiwi cafes are booked *wink*. I only kid – our Aussie cousins do a pretty damn good brunch, and I’m so glad that us antipodeans are taking over the London brunch scene…!

Le Garrick, A Corner of French Romance in Covent Garden | Restaurant Review

August 5, 2021

Returning to an old favourite restaurant like Le Garrick is like putting on a long-forgotten, beloved jumper. It’s cosy, delicious, fits a little differently but above all, has an underlying love of satisfaction so different to a newer garment. Disclaimer: We were invited guests of Le Garrick, but my (very many) opinions are only ever my own, and I would never recommend anywhere that I don’t happily visit. And revisit.

Le Garrick French Restaurant Covent Garden London

Restaurants from all corners of the globe line the the London streets of Covent Garden and the West End to entice theatre goers. Mexican fajitas, Kiwi brunches, delectably dirty American burgers, Italian pizzas – you name it, it seems as though almost every corner of cuisine gets a look in.
