Luxury Hotels in Manchester | King Street Townhouse
No word of a lie, of all the luxury hotels in Manchester, I’ve been looking for an excuse to book a stay in the King Street Townhouse for years.
Finally, our Liverpool and Manchester joint staycation gave me that very excuse to book a stay there. There’s lots to do in Manchester, but we just relaxed.
Funnily enough, it was actually Instagram where the King Street Townhouse appeared to me.
Why didn’t we just book it in? (Potentially because we were doing a load of other UK overnight trips…)
Whilst researching our stay, the description I found said that it’s “a charming 40-room boutique hotel. From its infinity spa-pool with a spectacular view of the Town Hall clock, and stylish public areas, to bedrooms you’ll struggle to leave, this is an indulgent retreat in the city centre” and they were so, so right.
The ridiculously comfortable beds have crisp, white bedding sourced from South Africa, and thoughtful extras such as luxury bathrobes, a Nespresso coffee machine and ESPA toiletries made them difficult to leave. Luxury Hotels in Manchester | King Street Townhouse
So, so hard. We spent many a cosy hour reading books, watching movies, sipping coffee, napping…
…oh, and relaxing in the roll top bath filled to the brim with bubbles.
Just writing this up made me feel relaxed all over again.
The actual bathroom itself was luscious – including a rainfall shower.
We booked in a little infinity spa pool time – when we stayed they were allocating times so that only a couple of rooms “households” were in the pool at the same time which I loved.
Sadly when we stayed the restaurant wasn’t open one of the nights and had a function the other – but we did enjoy exploring all of the nooks and nestling in for a drink.
It was really well located for everything we wanted to do – tucked away on the city centre’s quiet Booth Street (not nearby King Street as the name suggests), it’s just a five-minute walk to Manchester Art Gallery in one direction and the bars and restaurants of Spinningfields in the other. The designer shops in Exchange Square are a 10-minute walk away, while Piccadilly train station is walkable in 10 to 15 minutes. Luxury Hotels in Manchester | King Street Townhouse
We waited out some cold rain by enjoying the afternoon tea – both the usual afternoon tea…
