6 of my Favourite Hotels in London

Coming to London soon & want to know where to stay? Knowing where to stay can make or break a trip to the capital city of England, so I wanted to share 6 of my favourite hotels in London.

We loved to occasionally book a cheeky staycation, usually something special to treat ourselves, or explore and area we haven’t spent time in lately. All of these are perfectly located for exploring London – from the beauty of Mayfair to the more contemporary East End of London – and all have great transport links.

The Royal Horseguards Hotel is one of the grand-dames of the 5 star hotels in London.

I had booked a double room with a river view, and boy was I not disappointed. It had everything you could need; tucked under the eaves, our room had comfortable beds, an entire desk set up perfectly for working remotely, a huge TV, generous mini-bar and was a good size for two people.

To say we were ready for our Langham Hotel, bastion of timeless London elegance, was an understatement.

Our junior suite was in immaculate order. Cushions plumped, macarons ready and lights beautifully soft – relaxation perfection. We dumped our bags in the entrance and sank our world weary toes into the plush pile surrounding the bed.

For this staycation, it was the Mr’s turn to pick, and as he fancied a modern stay, we picked the Sea Containers Hotel on the Southbank.

I’ve popped in a few times for cocktails with friends (at this Mr Kiwi rolled his eyes ‘of course you’ve been here before’) but it was quite thrilling to be wheeling our cases in for a overnight sojourn.

Have you discovered the quirky, charismatic and very central area of Marylebone?

Montagu Place very much embodies these values. A recently (at the time of writing) refurbished Georgian townhouse 5 minutes walk from Baker Street, each of the rooms seem to have period features combined with a luxurious level of modern convenience.

Splashing through the pavement puddles, we headed towards our luxury boutique hotel in East London – the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green.

I loved the Art Deco styling, the beautiful lines of the furniture, the details like having a Bluetooth speaker system & the rubber duck in the bathroom and the size of the one bedroom apartment that we had was great.
